In 2023, the MAA Montessori Accreditation was established with the goal of assessing nurseries’ adherence to Montessori principles and granting them the “true” Montessori Nursery label. Nurseries are required to undertake a two-part process to cultivate a Montessori culture deeply integrated into their environment. The Montessori Inspector appointed by MAA conducts a thorough evaluation of various aspects, including Montessori staff training, professional development, work cycle implementation, and provision of well-resourced Montessori materials. The Montessori Inspector then prepares a comprehensive report following a full day visit to the nursery to observe Montessori practice, which is shared with the staff and parents. Following successful completion of the accreditation the nursery is awarded a logo valid for 3 years.
