The Little Learners Montessori

Fresh and Nutritious Meals Daily

At The Little Learners Montessori, we believe that a healthy diet is crucial for a child’s growth and development.

That’s why we provide fresh and nutritious meals daily at our Watford & Northwood nurseries, carefully prepared by our dedicated chef & Assistant chef.

For our Cricklewood setting, we partner with Zebedees, a trusted catering company, to deliver meals that meet the same standards as our on-site offerings.

At our Wembley nursery, children bring their own packed lunches, and we offer guidance to parents to ensure these meals are nutritious and balanced.

Across all our nurseries, we are committed to supporting healthy eating and ensuring that every child enjoys well-balanced meals tailored to their needs.

5-Star Food Hygiene

We prioritise the health and safety of the children in our care. Our nurseries have obtained a 5-star food hygiene rating, reflecting our high standards in cleanliness and food safety.

This rating assures parents that our kitchens are maintained with the utmost care, significantly reducing the risk of any health issues related to the food. Our commitment to hygiene ensures that every meal served is safe, clean, and of the highest quality.

An Educational Experience

Mealtimes at The Little Learners are more than just eating; they are an integral part of our educational experience. We encourage children to actively participate by setting tables, serving themselves, and pouring their own drinks. This develops independence, good manners, and social skills. Teachers join the children during meals, providing guidance and creating a communal atmosphere.

We also incorporate practical life activities into our curriculum, such as cooking, planting vegetables, and making smoothies. These activities teach children about healthy eating and excite their taste buds, encouraging them to enjoy a variety of foods.

Our rolling snack table, stocked with fresh drinking water, is available throughout the day, supporting continuous hydration and a seamless Montessori work cycle.

Dietary Needs and Preferences

To accommodate all dietary needs and preferences, we offer various meals, including plant-based options and sustainably sourced meat and fish dishes. We cater to allergies and religious dietary requirements and provide organic milk to guarantee the highest quality nutrition for your child.

Food Allergies

For children with allergies, our meals are prepared in a separate, contamination-free area using exclusive equipment. These children are seated at a designated table alongside others with similar needs, and their food is placed on a personalised table mat that clearly indicates their specific allergies. This ensures a safe and worry-free dining experience for all.

A variety of common food allergens, including fish, eggs, nuts, dairy, and strawberries, arranged around wooden tiles spelling out "FOOD ALLERGY," emphasising awareness and safety regarding dietary restrictions and food sensitivities.
